Oak Ridge War Eagles Win 12-2 over Magnolia Bull Dogs

Game Highlights:
Magnolia came out swinging in the 1st, but were shut-down leaving 2 men on base with two base hits.
Oak Ridge answered the Bulldog swings with Michael Johnson going deep to lead off the 1st. Chase Daniel helped his cause reaching on a single then scoring on a dropped fly ball to right field by Josh Edwards. Nate Daniels advanced to 3rd with Josh making it to second. Umps then ruled Infield Fly Rule sending Josh to the dugout. Tyler ended the 4th with Pop up to the SS.
Magnolia’s bats were limited to four to the plate again in the 2nd. 1st batter, Kinart reached on an over throw by Chase and subsequently scored by tagging on a fly ball to Moses Molina in left.
Aaron Dunahoe began the 2nd with a single, but was caught stealing 2nd. Stevyn Rivera grounded to the pitcher. Moses Molina began the two-out rally with a single run Homer over left. Michael Johnson continued by walking followed by singles from Will Murray and Chase Daniel.
Magnolia scored the second of their two runs in the 3rd by starting their own two out rally after flying out to Tyler Barrett in right and a throw out at first by Josh Edwards. Kenny Frelow singled followed by a walk and another single by Andrew Canales scoring Frelow.
Oak Ridge put up 4 in 3rd with a lead off walk by Josh Edwards on Magnolia’s second pitcher. After Tyler Barrett was thrown out at first by the SS, control became a factor and OR capitalized. Aaron Dunahoe reached after getting hit followed by a Stevyn Rivera walk. Moses came up with Bases loaded but was thrown out at first by the SS with another pitching change during his at bat. Michael and Will both reached after getting hit by a pitch. Chase was thrown out by the pitcher at first.
Chase again handled Magnolia supported by excellent defense behind him keeping Magnolia scoreless in the 4th. OR also was limited to four batters in the 4th.
Chase struck out two and walked two in Magnolias scoreless 5th.
Moses started the 5th with a shot up the middle for a single. Michael walked then Will hit into a FC knocking Moses off at third. Magnolia struck out two to end the inning.
Cody Green came in to relieve and sat Magnolia down in order with two K’s.
OR’s Josh flied to left and Tyler was thrown out at first. Aaron Began the last rally with a single to left. Stevyn and Moses both walked to load the bases for Michael Johnson. And the rest is history as Michael sent Magnolia packing with a WALK OFF GRAND SLAM!

Notables:
Oak Ridge - Michael Johnson – HR; Chase Daniel - 1B,2B, 3B, 3RBI’s ; Tyler Barret - 3B; Will Murray 2 for 3.
Lufkin - Johnny Gomez - 2B
Game Highlights:
Michael Johnson led 1st inning off with a 3rd pitch HR over the scoreboard in left.
Lufkin led off with a single, but an attempted steal was shut down by Stevyn Rivera.
Matt Graham walks in the 3rd followed by Michael Johnson and Will Murray singles. Chase cleared the bases with a Big Double to left field.
Oak Ridge made it 5-0 in the 5th on a single by Will Murray who eventually scored on a wild pitch.
Lufkin attempted 4 bunts which Stevyn Rivera smothered by throwing out two at first and catching a pop bunt.
Oak Ridge tacked on two more runs in the 6th with Will walking then scoring on Chase’s triple. Josh sacrificed to center scoring Chase.
Lufkin did not threaten but allowed several errors which Oak Ridge took full advantage of. ORHS Bats are ALIVE.

Oak Ridge War Eagles Win 8-5 over The Woodlands Highlanders

Game Highlights:
Oak Ridge kept the Highlanders at bay in 1st allowing only 4 batters to the plate. Josh Edwards threw two out at first and Nate handled one on his own.
Oak Ridge made a statement scoring four in the first! Capitalization was key with Michael Johnson walking followed by a Will Murray single. Passed balls allowed OR to get into scoring position. Chase Daniel walked an eventually scored as well as Andrew Teague who scored on a Tyler Barrett single.
OR came out swinging again in the 2nd with a lead off double by Nate Daniels. Nate was pick off on a FC but again passed balls and walks came into play with OR taking FULL advantage. Andrew Teague hit a double scoring Chase.
Spurlin hit the showers after 1-2/3 with Bonnot coming in with a nasty curve ball hitting the outside corner.
Solid defense prevailed for Oak Ridge through out….. ~Will Murray stole a solid hit with a snag throwing out the runner at first. ~ Chase made a catch on on ball that would have hit the fence. ~ Chase again make am awesome diving catch in center.
Tyler Barrett scored in the 5th again taking advantage of PB and Walks.
Ruben Perez came in to close the game and kept the Highlanders to 2 runs after settling in and relying on his defense.

Oak Ridge War Eagles Lose 6-3 to Klein Collins Tigers
Klein
Collins threatened in the 1st with bases loaded after lead-off
hitter was struck out by Cody Green.
Cody struck both the 5th and 6th hole to end
the 1st. Oak Ridge was held
to leaving runners on base(3) in 1st, 2nd and 3rd innings
Klein
Collins’ Brian Highly lead off 2nd with a single run blast over
left off of Cody.
Oak Ridge got a
rally going in the 4th with Dunahoe and Matt both getting hit
by pitches. Advancing Molina-(PR) to
second. Will got on base with a FC knocking Molina off at third. Tyler
got on with a walk, loading the bases for Rivera. Stevyn answered the call with a double
down the line past the KC third baseman scoring Matt and Will. Tyler
tied the score at three scoring on a 1-3 Daniels ground out by beating out
the throw home by the first baseman.
KC answered
back with one run in the 5th and two in the 6th off
of Dunahoe.
Pitching
for Oak Ridge
was 3 innings for Green (6K’s), 3 innings for Dunahoe (4 K’s) with
Perez closing out the game in the 7th.
Oak Ridge was unable
to score in the 5th, 6th or 7th innings
putting the game out of reach.
Bright Lights: Stevyn
Rivera threw out a would be stealer of 2nd base.
Tyler Barrett made an excellent throw to nail KC's Austin Dicharry as he attempted to score.
Yogi
Berra attended the game and he summed it up like this: "Oak Ridge
made too many wrong mistakes. But don't worry,
they'll get better as the season gets shorter."

Oak Ridge War Eagles Win 3-1 over Huntsville Hornets
Cody Green Pitched 5 scoreless innings with 5 K’s
Oak Ridge got a two out rally going in the 3rd with Michael Johnson hitting a single to left. Followed by a single by Aaron Dunahoe
scoring Michael. Josh Edwards
silenced the Huntsville Crowd with a Drive to Center which hit the top of
the fence and came back into play.
Field Ump signaled HR so Josh trotted from 1st to 2nd
as the ball got to second base. He
proceeded to circle the bases when Huntsville’s
Coached argued the call and after a discussion between umps it was ruled a
Ground Rule Double. All for nothing as Tyler Barrett scored
Josh on the first pitch with a hot single.
Huntsville
threatened in the 4th with a lead off double to left corner and
Tyler Barrett made it a close play at second with a great throw from the
corner. Runner advanced to third
after a sac bunt, but was stranded.
Matt
Graham came throwing heat in the 6th and gave up a HR to their
leadoff hitter but recovered striking out two and ending the 6th
with a fly ball behind 1st.
Matt closed out the game with two more strike-outs in the 7th
and a great defensive play by Josh Edwards at third.
